EVVC Award: Best Centre in 2011

Kongresskultur Bregenz is a fascinating place. One call is enough. The EVVC – “Europäischer Verband der Veranstaltungszentren” – thinks so, too. In its service test of 300 member organizations, Kongresskultur made it to first place.
 
The expert consultation offered by the Bregenz team during the first meeting as well as the friendliness and obligingness shown by the personnel were decisive factors for achieving the top ranking. Kongresskultur Bregenz is thus officially the best EVVC congress centre of its size in Europe.
 
“In the previous few years we had already positioned ourselves among the front-runners in the EVVC Awards. That we came home with gold this time round is due to our qualified personnel. I have accepted the laurels on behalf of the entire team,” says General Manager Gerhard Stübe. For him and Joint General Manager Michael Diem, the award is especially valuable because it is based on evaluations by customers. “If customers give us top marks,” says Michael Diem, “that’s the highest accolade for us.”

 
Scientifically established

From the first contact to the final settlement, the event centre on Lake Constance received top marks across the board in the customer survey, being judged “very good” in 17 out of 20 categories. A mystery shopping test the completed the assessment procedure: a covert customer request analysed the phase between establishment of contact and the telephone consultation on the basis of certain precisely defined scoring rubrics. The result is therefore dependable, having both a subjective and an objective evaluation component.
 
A contributing factor to this success was certainly the question of sustainability. That is taken very seriously at the congress centre on Lake Constance: “We pay to attention to energy efficiency and in the restaurant we use organic produce, regional and fair-trade ingredients,” explains Gerhard Stübe. “On top of that we attach great importance to the personal and professional development of our team members.” The exemplary commitment of Kongresskultur Bregenz in this area was recognized in September 2010 when it was awarded the Austrian environmental label “Green Meetings & Green Events”.
 

Highlights

The latest award confirms the achievements of recent years: Kongresskultur Bregenz was judged one of the three best congress centres in the world in 2004, 2010 and 2016. Then as now it was the staff – with its commitment, passion and experience in staging the Bregenz Festival – that made every congress unique and every event an unforgettable experience.
